Texas aggressors Judiciary have announced their pending EP, Stalagmite Angels. The five track presentation is due out September 4th via Closed Casket Activities and follows the strides made with the 2025 LP, Flesh + Blood.
Functioning as both a statement of intent and an internal refocus with guitarist Juan Vazquez who took up the axe for last year's LP, Stalagmite Angels finds Judiciary rediscovering their vision while further building on their bulldozing sound.
“The goal with this EP was a hard reset, but we also wanted to chill the f— out a bit, have fun, and do something that felt true to the four of us,” explained drummer Austin Looney. “We wanted time to reconfigure things and let the music come naturally–temper this new mindset that we've adopted post-Flesh + Blood.”
In rediscovering themselves creatively for the latest EP, the band was able to better hone in on their hardcore pedigree and reaffirm their commitment to their sound. Leaning into their influences rather than repeating them, Judiciary vocalists Jake Collinson explained how their foundation is always a part of who they are musically.
“90s hardcore and hardcore in general is always gonna be our natural inclination, but it manifests with different elements not only from song to song but within each song, Whether that’s Dying Breed or Cannibal Corpse or Crowbar or Machine Head or any number of other influences that any one of us may have, it all manifests in our work, and through our individual and collective lenses. With this EP, we transformed those ideas into the Judiciary approach.”
Along with the news of the latest EP, Judiciary have unveiled the first single, "Wall of Skulls." The muscular showcase of metallic hardcore asserts both the contemporary era of the band and an ode to their shared history thus far.
The band shared of Stalagmite Angels “...is a monument to a new era of Judiciary that stands on the foundation of our past. It’s an ode to hardcore and the underground scene that we know and love—it’s what made us who we are today. And though we’ve ventured into different realms of heavy music since Judiciary began, every single time we return with new skulls to add to our little slice of the underground.”
