Set to make his solo debut with the May 17th arrival of From Hell I Rise, thrash pioneer and guitar god Kerry King has added to his growing live itinerary. King has confirmed a special one-off performance at London's Electric Ballroom, just two days after the band is set to make this debut at Donington for the 2024 installment of the Download Festival.
Tickets for the intimate one-off show are set to go on sale April 17th at 10am GMT.
The announcement follows the recent unveiling of the second single from the debut solo effort. Working with Jim Louvau and Tony Aguilera, the clip for "Residue" features a flammable showing from the collective members of King's ensemble, framing the individual performances on a track that underscores the relentlessness of the sound.
"I come from a big fire pedigree," explained King of the track, "and my music works with fire. I've always written horror-type music, so it made sense to incorporate fire into the first video, where you get to see the entire band, which I think is just awesome. I think fire goes hand-in-hand with the devil, and I'm no stranger to talking about the devil."
Director Jim Louvau added, "I knew this would be the first time that the world was going to see the band performing together, so I wanted to create a fast-moving visual assault. Pyrotechnics and Kerry King clearly go hand in hand and seem to fit like a glove, so Tony and I wanted to create something that felt familiar but also something new and exciting. I also knew I could get away with certain visuals like a burning pentagram."
The London headlining show is that latest addition to King's ever-growing itinerary. Set to join the Ashes of Leviathan summer tour, King will be out supporting Lamb of God and Mastodon for the 20th anniversary of Ashes of the Wake and Leviathan respectively.
