On the eve of their 28th full length studio release, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have shared another pre view from Alien Metal with "Kill For the Steel". The single expands on the band's complete embrace of electronica and is paired with a visualizer helmed by Jason Galea. 

Derived from sextet's rave shows, Alien Metal is the result of the band's full immersion in electronic music. Equipped with a modular synthesizer that propelled the rave shows (dubbed 'Nathan') the collective has added electronica to their evolving repertoire that is proficient in prog, thrash, jam, synth and beyond. 

Unleashing the new weaponry of the Eurotrack synthesizer has meant a new creative freedom that has energized the band. "It completely rewired my brain," said Stu Mackenzie. "I was like, 'I'm going to forget everything I know about music and relearn it all from scratch'."

The band explained that the ambitious endeavor has been anything but easy. "We've never scrapped so much material as we have for this album," Mackenzie says. "Entire albums, entire universes that were formulated, created, recorded, deleted and started again."

Alien Metal is a marriage of the band's signature psychedelia across a swath of electronic subgenre ranging from jungle, house, techno and hardcore. 

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard head their sold out Field of Vision II Festival in Colorado with sets from Angine de Poitrine, Blood Incantation, Die Spitz, Jello Biafra, Primitive Ring, Upcheck, W.I.T.C.H. and more this weekend.
