Prior to the band's featured set at Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, KORN unveiled their first new offering of music since 2022.
Submitting for the Diablo IV expansion pack due out April 28th, "Reward the Scars" pushes the band's signature sound with the unmistakable guitars of Head and Munky anchoring the track as Jonathan Davis reminds fans why he is one of the best to ever do it.
“I’ve played Diablo for years, so getting to step into that world creatively felt natural,” said frontman Jonathan Davis “I’ve always connected to the darkness in the game and the idea of confronting what lives beneath the surface –– that’s something Korn has explored in our music from the beginning. ‘Reward the Scars’ came out of our own writing sessions as a new Korn song, and it became clear pretty quickly that it was a natural fit for Diablo.”
Kevin Bjelajac, VP of Brand & Creative Marketing at Blizzard spoke about the organic pairing of the two masssive entities. “This collaboration came together naturally—Korn and Diablo live in that space of confronting darkness head-on. With Lord of Hatred, we’re telling a story about consequence, choice, and what it means to embrace—or resist—the pull of evil. ‘Reward the Scars’ captures that spirit perfectly.”
In addition to the release of the new track, KORN delivered the live debut of "Reward The Scars" during their highlight set at Sick New World over the weekend. The arrival of the new music follows speculation that the follow-up to 2022's Requiem is ramping up. Additionally, KORN recently confirmed their first EU/UK headlining tour in more than a decade set for later this year with support from Architects, Pixel Group and Youth Code.
