Marking their triumphant return with new music, their first since the hailed 2022 LP, Omens, metal titans Lamb of God have roared back with the mammoth single "Sepsis". The release of the track ushers in a next era for the Virginian unit, commencing their their next chapter as the forerunners of modern metal. 

Teaming once again with longtime producer and collaborator Josh Wilbur, "Sepsis" showcases the signature sound of one of metal's most celebrated and respected units - underscoring the band's continued dominance and unwavering heavy music craftsmanship. 

Thematically, "Sepsis" emphasizes the band's roots, framing their appreciation for home, Richmond, Virginia, by honoring the thriving underground music scene that played a formative role in shaping Lamb of God into who they are today. 

“’Sepsis’ is a celebration of the very underground local bands here in Richmond that we really admired when we were just forming Burn the Priest,” guitarist Mark Morton explained. “Bands like Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, and Ladyfinger—though they never got widespread attention outside of Richmond, those were the bands we listened to all the time. The song references that stuff in a way that’s a direct line to where we were coming from when we were in the basement writing our earliest material together.”

The arrival of "Sepsis" lands as the band were recently confirmed to headline Bloodstock 2026. Currently, the band is preparing for their upcoming appearance at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento (October 2nd) as well as confirmed performances at AMMA Championship Fest, and the high seas celebration of their own Headbangers Boat cruise set for October 31st through November 4th. The four-day floating festival departs from Miami with a stop in Cozumel, Mexico and will feature a curated roster of performances including Clutch, Kublai Khan TX, Power Trip, Obituary, Devil Driver, Fear Factory, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Exploited, Crowbar, Nekrogoblikon, Eighteen Visions, Gideon, Walls of Jericho, Category 7, Brat and so much more.
