Belarusian post punk force Molchat Doma have furnished the title track from their forthcoming Sacred Bones full length, Belaya Polosa. The album is set to land September 6th via Sacred Bones and showcases one of the haunting allure of one of the genre's most intriguing breakout stars.
The latest preview of the album follows the reveal of previous entries including “Son” and “Ty Zhe Ne Znaesh Kto Ya” - of which have been received with universal acclaim. On the album's title track, Molchat Doma utilize subtle electronics and delicate guitars as a bedrock for vocalist Egor Shkutko to shine.
The band share how the single is indicative of their own personal story of growth and success. "Written in LA after more than a year of living in a new place, the song captures the interplay of past and present,” Molchat Doma share.
“It reflects the realization that you're no longer drawn to where you left, yet you don't completely sever ties. It's as if life has been paused. The lyrics explore self-understanding across time, the evolution of your social circle, and an outsider’s view of people from a 'past life’."
Along with the release of the single, the band have unveiled a stylish new music video directed by Ambar Navarro. Sourcing 90's-era MTV and the golden era of music videos, the black and white wash and unpolished grit takes visual cues from revered auteurs such as Ingmar Bergman and Andrei Tarkovsky.
Paired with the news of the latest single, Molchat Dama have also confirmed a lengthy North American tour that will see the band begin next year with a comprehensive canvas of the United States. The tour begins January 16th in Las Vegas and spans some 30 dates before closing out on March 5th in Oakland, CA. Sextile has been confirmed as support for the run.
