Mr. Bungle, Blind Guardian, Slaughter To Prevail Top the Return of Milwaukee Metalfest

The first wave of bands touts a list of artists that spans subgenre and generation making for one of the most diverse, domestic festivals in heavy music.

The storied Mid-West, multi-day metal congregation in the Milwaukee Metalfest has revealed the initial wave of confirmed artists for the 2024 edition. Spearheaded by Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta along with industry veteran Tim Borror, the Milwaukee Metalfest will span four days from may 16th through the 19th and already touts an impressively diverse field of artists. 

Topping the 2024 bill are pioneering thrash outfit, Mr. Bungle whose line-up features the all-star ensemble of Mike Patton, Dave Lombardo, Scott Ian, Trey Spruance and Trevor Dunn. The fest will also feature a set from German power metal pillars Blind Guardian as well as deathcore giants Slaughter To Prevail - underscoring the diversity of the line-up. 

Jamey Jasta added to the announement,"We extremely excited to have Milwaukee Metal Fest not only coming back for another insane year but this time around we have added power metal, more black metal, more doom and some other surprise elements that were not logistically possible last year. This is just the first of many announcements on the horizon and I can’t wait to see everyone in Milwaukee next May!"

Tim Borror of Sound Talent Group added, "Milwaukee Metal Fest 2023 was so awesome but more importantly, it’s a stake in the ground of how important and vital metal music is. Especially extreme metal! 2024 is going to be even more incredible. Come hang with us in May"

Among the standouts of the first wave of bands includes Swedish melodic metal legends In Flames, death metal OGs Deicide and black metal fixtures Marduk just to name a few. MKE will also feature sets from Katatonia, Kamelot, Possessed, Metal Church, Incantation, Skinless and many more with still plenty more to be added. 

Milwaukee Metalfest kicks off with a pre-party May 16th as the precursor to the main festival running from May 17th through the 19th at The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee, WI.
