Among heavy music's thriving new school, Mugshot are out to prove they are more than deserving of the hype. Set to release their sophomore full length album, All the Devils Are Here next month via Pure Noise Records, the San Jose natives have hurled a molotov with their latest single, "Next To Your Idols".
In line with the previous string of singles including "Die In Fear," "Afore A Waking Nightmare" and "Vale of Tears" the band is specially vicious on the newest preview - taking aim at our current climate of celebrity impunity and the notion of influencer culture gone wrong. The end result is a track that is purely hostile and especially hard-hitting, with a performance from frontman Ringo Waterman that translates as pure venom.
The band shared of the track, "'Next To Your Idols' is a critique on celebrity culture and the adornment of those who use their platform to mistreat or take advantage of others. It’s an indictment on Hollywood and the manipulation that surrounds it and similar circles."
On the album All the Devils Are Here, Mugshot tap into their fullest potential with the vision and direction of accomplished producer, Randy Leboeuf (Kublai Kahn, The Acacia Strain, Gideon, Bad Omens). Building upon the confrontation and combination of metalcore polish and hardcore pummel on their 2023 EP Cold Will, Mugshot achieve a new level of wrath on the album, asserting their rank as artists and agitators.
The band added, "This album is the most collaborative we have ever been as a band, every person had a major hand in creating whether that be musically, lyrically or both. It’s also the first album we haven’t self produced and having Randy Leboeuf on board was so invaluable, he really felt like a 5th member. Lyrically this is the most personal and pissed off we have ever been and we think everyone will be able to connect with many tracks on this record."
Coinciding with the release of All the Devils Are Here, Mugshot head up a relentless touring schedule this summer in support of the album Along with festvial appearances at Welcome to Rockville as well as Louder Than Life, Mugshot will be out with Orthodox and Omerta in an explosive showcase of emerging talent in the heavy space.
