Nonpoint Issue Update on Drummer Rob Rivera Who Suffered A Medical Emergency Mid-Set

- By Ramon Gonzales

The band was forced to cut their appearance in Louisville, Kentucky short when Rivera had top pause his performance and eventually stop entirely.

Florida vets Nonpoint were faced with a scary situation during the Louisville stop of their current, The Painful Statements Tour. Marking the 20th anniversary of To The Pain and the 25th anniversary of Statement, the band is currently just three days into the milestone, monthlong run with Crobot and Heartsick.

During last night's (January 12th) tour stop in Louisville, KY., drummer Rob Rivera was forced to stop his performance and was reported to be pacing onstage. Rivera would reportedly leave the stage to collect himself and would return to resume the set. However, just a few songs into the restart, the band realized something was not right and ultimately stopped the show all together.

Rivera was transported to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.

In the hours since, the band has issued an update on RIvera's status and exactly what happened that forced the band to halt the set. Frontman Elias Soriano shared some information as to what Rivera experienced and his current status. Soriano also thanked the fans for their outpouring of support.

"Thank you to the fans of Louisville for understanding us having to cut the set tonight. Robb had a sudden shift in his heart rate that was dangerously high and the paramedics were not able to get it down in time so they took him to the hospital. As of now his heart rate is stable and they’re running tests. We’ll keep you all posted on his progress as news comes in. Send them healing vibes our way so we can get our brother back on that drum throne."
