P.O.D. Enlist Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer for Anthemic New Single, "Afraid to Die"

P.O.D. Enlist Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer for Anthemic New Single, "Afraid to Die"

- By Ramon Gonzales

The track was prompted by the 2022 fall tour when P.O.D. and Jinjer linked up for a run on North America that ultimately lead to a creative kinship.

Following their reveal earlier this year "Drop" which featured a heavyweight guest assist from Randy Blythe of Lamb of God, P.O.D. have double down on their run of all-star features and recruited Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer for a second banger in "Afraid to Die".

The track underscores the collaborative chemistry that resulted from the band's fall 2022 tour when P.O.D. and Jinjer linked up for a run on North America. The tandem's live energy and congruent chemistry, ultimately led from the stage to the studio where the anthemic cut came to fruition.

P.O.D. guitarist Marcos Curiel shared, "'AFRAID TO DIE' is a combination of cryptic and triumphant melodies. It has storytelling rhymes and chugged verses, and a wide open, melodic yet semi-morbid, chorus. It's anthemic In every sense of the word."

Curiel added, "Our dear friend Tatiana Shmayluk offers her unique approach and we had incredible musical chemistry with her. This is P.O.D. hitting the human core of our existence and dealing with love, fear, integrity, and most of all, family and friends. It's ultimately an abundance of love and life."

The latest from the multi-platinum veterans suggests the band has plenty more in the works, given the first two previews have touted some impressive collaborative personnel. Keep your eyes peeled for more from P.O.D.
