En route to the celebratory release of their first full length studio effort in more than 16 years, post-hardcore trailblazers Poison the Well have shared another preview of their highly-anticipated Peace In Place LP. Following last month's introductory wallop with the unveiling of powerful lead single, "Thoroughbreds," Poison the Well have doubled back with second slab in "Everything Hurts."
A masterful presentation of the band's signature slow burn-to-sudden burst song dynamics, the single serves as quintessential Poison the Well, from the sonics to the substance found between the lyrical lines. Frontman Jeffrey Moreira explains the context that propels such a powerful song.
"'Everything Hurts' is about the patience and effort it takes to keep relationships alive," says Moreira. "I care deeply about the people in my life, but even the people you love can be frustrating sometimes. And it's important to remember that we can be just as frustrating to them. We all have our moments — and I have my moments too. The ones that stick around are the ones you have a unique connection with. You can't put up with everyone's shit, so the people you keep close are the ones whose shit you actually want to deal with."
Kicking off shortly after the March 20th arrival of Peace in Place via SharpTone Records, Poison the Well will embark on a spring trek that will include headlining performances and an appearance at Sick New World in Las Vegas on April 25th.
Set to join Poison the Well for the highly-anticipated tour, mathcore giants Converge have been confirmed as direct support along with a varied rotation of heavy hitters taking on select dates with Balmora, SPY, The Armed, and The Barbarians of California all set for the spring stretch. The tour begins April 2nd in Cleveland, OH and closes out on May 17th in San Francisco, CA.
