New York's hardcore outliers Show Me the Body have debuted a new single, "It Burns". Pairing the band's hardcore adjacent aggression and outside the box delivery, the track begins on the metallic end of the spectrum and steers towards industrial-tinged synth with frontman Julian Pratt going bars over the top.
The track arrives with a new visual clip which was co-directed by Julian Pratt and Asha Maura. Offering a stylized take on the band's live intensity, the video speaks to the band's DIY ethos and their emphasize on performative power.
The arrival of the single suggests the band's launch of Corpus II is immiment, especially given the band's recent touring announcement. Late last month, Show Me the Body confirmed their own headlining trek with the Corpus Grows Tour - following their successful stretch on the completely sold out Knocked Loose tour.
The trek begins September 24th in Boston, MA and will see Show Me the Body taking on select festival dates in addition to their own headlining plays. Confirmed to appear at Louder Than Life in Louisville, Furnace Fest Mobile, AL. Aftershock in Sacramento and VIVA PHX in Arizona, it obvious the New York trifecta is on a unprecedented tear.
The Corpus Grows Tour furthers Show Me the Body's ongoing Corpus NYC initiative first forged in 2015. A community-driven collective nurturing creative and mutual aid, Corpus NYC has been a driving force in cultivating non-traditional, intentional DIY spaces in New York and now internationally. Producing effective, provoking tours ranging from underground punk to alternative hip hop, CORPUS NYC continues its outreach via artistic authenticity.
Set to join Show Me the Body on their extensive Corpus Grows Tour, High Vis and BIB will join for the duration of the trek. Additionally, Special Interest, ZelooperZ, Bearcat, and HiTech will also be featured on select dates on the run.
The Corpus Grows tour will culminate with an important finale for Show Me the Body. Set for November 2nd, the tour will close out with a headlining set at the Knockdown Center in Queens, where Corpus NYC is now based. The event will mark the largest hometown show for Show Me the Body to date.
