Barelling towards the July 12th arrival of the band's highly-anticipated full length studio album debut, Aussie hardcore phenoms Speed have delivered the first preview from the album, Only One Mode.
Packaged with impassioned lyrics, powerful riffage and the kind of dynamic breakdowns that have come to define the band's sound, Speed speak to their unwavering allegiance the culture and community of hardcore on "Real Life Love".
Teaming with cohorts, collaborators and comrades Jack Rudder and Thomas Elliot, the accompanying music video frames the intensity and the intention that speak to the ethos of hardcore. For Speed, the opening track for their debut album functions as a mission statement - their well-articulated ode to a style and sound that has permeated in all aspects of their lives.
Vocalist Jem Siow better explained the emphasis of the track. “My time in hardcore has informed the relationships I have with everyone I hold close. An unconditional sense of love and loyalty. A bond that knows no words. Relationships that now span a lifetime. To us, this unique sense of deep-seated understanding is the essence of HC, it's what we're most passionate about and grateful for."
The arrival of the lead single from Only One Mode lands as Speed continue to make converts as a vital part of the current, sold out Knocked Loose North American headlining tour. The band are currently trekking along with Show Me the Body and Loathe as part of exceptionally well-received run. Following Speed's North American victory lap, the band will head to Europe for a succession of festival appearances before returning to the US to join Have Heart for their pair of reunion sets this July.
