Sylosis Release Towering New Single, "Lacerations"

- By Ramon Gonzales -->

The band begins their biggest headlining tour of the EU/UK tonight in support of their pending full length, The New Flesh.

With the arrival of the band's latest full length, The New Flesh, due out later this month, UK metal powerhouse Sylosis have shared the third single previewing the album with the anthemic, "Lacerations." Following previously issued singles in "Erased" and the album's title track, the collective has submitted the powerfully performed, masterfully executed "Lacerations," - a single that combines the band's technical prowess, sustained by an anthemic chorus.

Sylosis architect Josh Middleton shared, "Lacerations has become a firm favourite amongst those that have heard the new record. After this song came together during the early stages of writing, I felt a huge sense of relief knowing that we had achieved our best song to date. I couldn’t get the chorus out of my head and that’s usually a good sign. Once we had this song under our belts we knew this album would a big step up in terms of our writing abilities.

Musically it calls back to some of the darker melancholic sounds from Edge of the Earth or even The Supreme Oppressor but with a ton of heavy riffs in there. Lyrically, this song is about facing your own mortality and health anxiety. I think a lot of people can relate to spiralling out of control when they think something’s wrong and how differently you look at your life, and what matters most when confronted with those intrusive thoughts."

The arrival of "Lacerations" follows the recent confirmation of the band's upcoming album release performance at London's O2 Forum Kentish Town. Among the support billed, Heaven Shall Burn, The Black Dahlia Murder and Frozen Soul, will each take the stage on February 20th making for one of heavy music's most dynamic live bills.

Gearing up for what is expected to be a career year, Sylosis begin their biggest headlining tour to date throughout the EU and UK. Along with Revocation, Distant and Life Cycles, the run begins tonight in Germany and concludes February 22nd in Dublin. Shortly thereafter, Sylosis lands on North American soil for an equally important US/Canadian run along with support from Bleed From Within, Great American Ghost and Life Cycles.
