Just last month, the duo of Sara Taylor and Ryan George in Youth Code announced a new EP, Yours, With Malice, set to land May 19th. The confirmation introduced the duo's first presentation of new music in more than four years, following their collaborative release with King Yosef with 2021's, A Skeleton Key in the Doors of Depression. 

Along with the news of the forthcoming EP, Youth Code offered a glimpse of the pummel to come with the menacing first single, "No Consequence". Combining a punishing electronic pulse, invasive synth and a dominant vocal showing from Taylor, the first single track offered an emphatic reminder of Youth Code's sonic assault. 

Doubling down on the impact of "No Consequence" Youth Code's second showing from the EP with "In Search of Tomorrow" frames another powerful entry rife with emotion and conviction. Using warmer synth atop a charging EBM cadence, the track showcases Youth Code's range - shifting from confrontational in "No Consequence" to something more anthemic with "In Search of Tomorrow."

The release serves as Youth Code's introduction on Sumerian Records. The shift to a new label along with a reignited creative spark offered the perfect convergence of circumstances for the team to make their long-awaited return. 

Ryan George previously discussed the timeline of the last four years and how Youth Code were persistent with their craft and patient when it came to the execution. “I think a lot of people’s stories during the pandemic were about self-reflection, but the ironic thing is we were already in a state of reemergence and re-imagination of self before the rest of the world was forced to do it."  

George continued, “We took time and began to workshop and demo vocals on some of the material we had.  We never stop writing and are sitting on a mountain of tracks that we can rework and tweak. Not having deadlines surrounding us and in no hurry to get our material out there, all of a sudden the partnership with Sumerian arrived. That sort of ignited a fire and got us to where we are now.”

Combining the duo's hardcore pedigree with their deeply-rooted connection to synth and EBM, Youth Code's cross-section of styles is what has contributed to their potency for more than a decade. With a catalog that boasts essential releases including 2014's A Place to Stand, 2016's Commitment to Complications and the previously mention 2021 collab opposite King Yosef, Youth Code remain one of heavy music's most effective and innovative contributors. 

Youth Code will perform a trio of shows in support of Yours, With Malice. With confirmed dates in Brooklyn, Chicago and a sold out show in Los Angeles, the excitement for the duo's return continues to ramp. See the dates and cities below.
