Austrian extreme metal practitioners Belphegor unleashed a visceral assault on Los Angeles venue 1720 for the penultimate stop on their Praise the Beast 2026 North American tour. 

Emerging triumphant among the black leather and bullet belt contingent packed tight into the Downtown LA destination, Helmuth and the purveyors of time-tested, blackened death set a high bar with a rendition of "Baphomet" that detonated the room. Even the band's more current entries in "Sanctus Diaboli Confidimus" and "Scarlet Beast-Leviathan" served well in scoring with the most ardent, long-tenured fans. 

The atmosphere for selections like "Stigma Diabolicum" and "Virtus Asinaria-Prayer" made the room feel unholy - elevating the live set into something palpably ominous and ritualistic. Closing the evening of sinister ceremony, "Totentaz - Dance Macabre" leveled the room and offered undeniable proof of the band's legacy as extreme metal pillars.
