Signaling the start of the summer on the heavy music calendar, Welcome to Rockville took over the Daytona Speedway with a mammoth celebration that drew a historic crowd of more than 230,000 fans from all over the world.
Assembling a comprehensive line-up that corralled some 150 artists from across the stylistic spectrum of rock, Rockville's five stage congregation was pure spectacle stretched out over a span of four days - a marathon party that has become the barometer for the health of heavy art and culture.
The excitement for the day one was further fueled by a run of show that wasted little time getting to the task at hand - with big bands setting the tone for the weekend to come. With sets from The Dillinger Escape Plan, Trivium, Halestorm, Rob Zombie, Arch Enemy, Body Count, Converge and many more, the heat of the speedway at Daytona Beach leveled up with the action happening on the stages at Rockville.
