Evanescence Continue Their Dynasty With A Superb Los Angeles Headliner

Presiding over a capacity Kia Forum in Inglewood, the rock music veterans proved elite with a sprawling 21-song set. 

Among rock's most important touring bills on the calendar year, the North American headlining campaign for Evanescence along with Spiritbox and Nova Twins has proved to be an absolute powerhouse. The Southern California stop of the run tallied another victory for the caravan as each of the artists submitted unforgettable performances - each earning highlights on the night. 

For Evanescence, the night showcased the effectiveness of the band's most recent full length, Sanctuary. Of the marathon 21-song set, all but one track made the cut, with the band's essentials appearing throughout the presentation. Opening in dramatic fashion with a stirring rendition of album's title track, Amy Lee and Evanescence emphasized their still growing dynasty that has spanned more than two decades. 

From the anthemic quality of entries like "Rapture" and "Afterlife" that shook The Forum to the beauty of ballads like "Beautiful Lie" and the K.Flay-assisted "Forever Without You" that captivated the same arena, the range of Evanescence is unmatched and their live command is a modern marvel.

Coupled with the effectiveness of Sanctuary, Evanescence ensured the hits had their shine as iconic tracks from their Fallen-era like "Going Under," "My Immortal" and the perennial "Bring Me to Life" conjured the full range of emotion from the floor to the rafters. 

Rounding out the masterclass, Amy Lee was flanked by K.Flay, Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox and Nova Twins for a showing of "Fight Like A Girl" that reiterated a powerful message both in style and substance. Closing the night with "Wide Open Heart," the finale from Sanctuary, Evanescence further cemented their legacy as one of rock's most rightfully celebrated collectives. 

Along with stellar supporting sets from the heir apparent in Courtney LaPlante and Spiritbox and special guest opener Nova Twins, generations of rock music flagbearers assembled for a night that will likely have an impact long beyond the end of the run.
