"Even saw the lights of the Goodyear blimp and it read, 'Ice Cube's a pimp!'"

Undoubtedly one of the most important stops of his Truth to Power: Four Decades of Attitude tour, ice Cube made his homecoming one for the books with a performance at Crypto.com Arena in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.

Encompassing Cube's more than four decade tenure, the arena-level production and  comprehensive setlist the covered the entirety of Cube's historic career, anchored Cube's first successive, coast-to-coast tour in more than a decade.

Executing an onstage marathon, Cube compiled a setlist that totaled some 35 entries in all - making good on the guarantee of a "40 year celebration." Working in chronological order, Cube opened the show by taking fans back to the very beginning with essentials from his formative N.W.A. catalog. Tracks like "Dopeman," "Gangsta Gangsta" and the incendiary "Fuck Tha Police" reminded the arena just how revolutionary those songs and that sound have always been.

Segueing into his solo era, Cube pieced together a brilliant greatest hits run that could have easily been it's own set. From Amerikkka's Most Wanted's "Once Upon A Time In the Projects" to Kill At Will's "Jackin' For Beats" to "How to Survive in South Central" to gold standard of diss tracks in "No Vaseline," Cube was on parade.

Roping on his radio staples, anthems like ""Check Yo'Self," "Bop Gun (One Nation)" and "You Know How We Do It" turned the house of Kobe into all out party. From the floor to the rafters, fans of all walks, all generations could be found singing along with some of hip hop's most beloved, enduring entries.

Cube even devoted a portion of his set to his Westside Connection era - arguably one of hip hop's most cult-driven collectives. While the world still waits for the day the trio of Ice Cube, Mack 10 and WC make their return, Cube performed mandatory material from the era including "Bow Down," "The Gangsta, The Killa and Tha Dope Dealer" and the forever anthem, "Gangsta Nation" to the glee of the arena.

Closing out his time with a two track encore, Cube completed his victory lap by showcasing a classic, paired with his current iteration. "It Was A Good Day" brought the house to it's feet and prompted a collective sway. Cube followed the iconic track with his newest entry, "It's My Ego" offering a reminder that four decades in, Cube still has plenty to say.
