The 2025 edition of the season ending megafestival in Sacramento's Aftershock delivered some incredible stats that suggest the current health of heavy music.
By the numbers, the fest's enormity is undeniable, pooling more than 115 artists across multiple stages over the course of 4 record-breaking days. In total, Afterrshock would see more than 164,000 patrons pass through their gates for an extended weekend that rermains ont only the West Coast's largest, most prestigious festival for hard and heavy music - but one of the industry's premiere events on a global level.
Revisiting opening day of Aftershock 2025, among the various highlights included a headlining set from pop-punk icons Blink-182 who welcomed former bassist Matt Skiba for a rendition of their collaborative track, "Bored to Death".
Good Charlotte delivered on their rare appearance, welcoming Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 in what proved to be another memorable takeaway on the first night. Packaged with standout sets from the likes of metal vets Testament, Carcass, Hatebreed and the triumphant reunion sludge heroes Acid Bath, Aftershock's opening was a powerful reminder of the scope of the festival.
