The second day of the four-day celebration of music's hard and heavy brought an especially significant subtext to the run of show at Aftershock 2025.
The line-up compiled a generational assembly of hevay music's elite, with the young blood of Turnstile, Knocked Loose and Power Trip asserting their rank among the top tier. Reiterating the enormity of the bill, the established veterans in Lamb of God, Kerry King, Dream Theater and A Perfect Circle flexed their unwavering power as metal's enduring leaders with sets that proved unforgettable.
And yet on a day that included a run of highlights, the crescendo proved to be the hometown set of Deftones - a unit that is well into the thrird decade of their tenure and more relevant than they have ever been. Showcasing selections from their latest full length, Private Music, the homecoming set spanned the band's beloved catalog and underscored Deftones place as cultural leaders and heavy music's one of one.
