Holding court at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA for the first of two nights on their "No Repeat" weekend takeover on the M72 World Tour, Metallica compiled a forceful performance of greatest hits for their homecoming set.

As Ennio Morricone blared throughout the stadium, Metallica appeared onstage in the round as the Bay area shook with excitement for what was considered one of the biggest live music events of the year. Fully aware of that high bar of expectation, Metallica soared through an opening rendition of "Creeping Death" that electrified the stadium and set the pace for an evening that was to be pure revelry.

Pairing a couple of newer entries from 72 Seasons with the title track and "If Darkness Had A Son", the remainder of the band's stage time rolled out a collection of essentials from every era of Metallica. Roaring through "Hit the Lights" from the Kill 'Em All era, "Orion" from the Master of Puppets era and even cuts from Death Magnetic in "The Day the Never Comes" and "Cyanide" - the band ensured their coverage was comprehensive.

Completing their time with a succession of Metallica anthems, the band went on a high-octane run to close out their time with emphasis. Charging through "Sad But True," burning down the house with "Battery" then running a victory lap with the trio of "Fuel," "Seek & Destroy" and the iconic "Master of Puppets" - the sold out stadium heaved their adulation on the Bay area heroes and reaffirmed that Metallica is forever.
