Texas rock powerhouse Nothing More flexed their relentlessness on the road, submitting a convincing set for the Southern California stop of their Carnal Nature World Tour. What began late last year with a campaign across Europe has now began it's survey of the States, asserting the band's explosive brand of heavy melody and hard-hitting energy.
Taking on the Riverside Municipal Auditorium, Jonny Hawkins proved an effective master of ceremonies, sourcing a setlist that leaned heavily on entries from the band's most recent full length, CARNAL, in addition to bonafide favorites from the band's 2014 self-titled LP.
From the opening one-two of "HOUSE ON SAND" and "ANGEL SONG," to a rendition of "FREEFALL" that saw Nathanael Pulley of Archers guest for some added muscle, Nothing More pushed the pace of the performance above the red line throughout their stage time. Dropping in massive hits like "Jenny" and "Go To War" in the middle of the set was a bold move that paid off in keeping the energy in the room on high - it also underlined that Nothing More had no shortage of favorites to offer the fans.
Capping the band's time, "Ocean Floor" built to a dramatic crescendo as "This Is the Time (Ballast)" shook the auditorium for a finale that proved worth the price of admission alone. On a night that offered several memorable instances, the finale song of the night further emphasized Nothing More are peaking, despite a schedule that should show signs of wear and tear from the road.
