Technical death metal stalwarts Revocation are currently out in unleashing the crushing strength of their fifth full length studio album, New Gods, New Masters. Further solidifying the live onslaught with rhythm guitarist Harry Lannon and bassist Alex Weber, the unit showcased their pummeling brand of precision in front a rabid Los Angeles crowd at the Echoplex.
Opening with a pair of standout cuts from their latest LP, the sci-fi madness of 'Crononberged" going back-to-back with "Sacrophagi of the Soul" set a high bar for the evening, putting the room on notice that Dave Davidson and the crew were all about business.
Reaching back into their catalog, the band's arsenal included cuts from Netherheaven, like the epic, "Strange and Eternal" and the metallic barrage of "Only the Spineless Survive" from the 2016 masterclass, Great Is Our Sin.
Closing the show with a true fan-favorite and arguably one of the band's most definitive and enduring tracks, "Witch Trials" proved the kind of emphatic finale that allowed the band to exit the stage without the pomp and circumstance of an encore.
