Arena powerhouse Shinedown took on Toyota Arena in Ontario for the Southern California stop of the second act of their Dance Kid Dance campaign. Riding out in support of their spring LP release via Atlantic, EI8HT, the collective submitted a rock-heavy spectacle that proved heavy with anthems and fan favorites.
While the band's setlist ensured the new album got plenty of love with entries like "Three Six Five," "Searchlight" and the eruptive opener in "Safe and Sound" setting the bar, Shinedown constructed a comprehensive run of show that landed with generations of fans. From the raucous "Cut the Cord," the big ballad of "A Symptom of Being Human," to the locomotive heft of "MONSTERS," the lengthy 21-song set scored with long-tenured fans and those just getting acquainted just the same.
Pulling out all the stops, Shinedown sectioned off a portion of their set to tip their hats to the likes of 3 Doors Down and the incomparable Lynyrd Skynyrd with a pair of covers in "Kryptonite" and "Simple Man" that flexed the band's rock music foundation. Closing the show with a pair of the the band's most evergreen selections, "Sound of Madness" and "Second Chance" showcased the full range of emotion that drives the band's brand of arena-ready rock.
Coupled with a pair of outstanding supporting sets from the likes of Coheed and Cambria and special guests From Ashes to New, the second act of the Dance Kid Dance tour further solidified Shinedown as one of leaders of their respective class.
