Rock vets Shinedown left nothing in the tank coming offstage for the Los Angeles stop on the second leg of the Dance Kid Dance tour. The wildly successful run of arena dates is currently on its second leg, following an initial launch that welcome capacity crowds across the country.
Getting right to it, Shinedown began their set with the band's new classic, "Dance Kid Dance" which put the fans on notice - tonight was all about that action. Within the show's first act, Shinedown roared through anthemic versions of hits like "Cut the Chord" and "Enemies," pairing them with vital new cuts like "Three Six Five" - keeping the arena on its toes.
Using innovative stage design, the band would shift to a secondary stage for a more immersive experience to begin the second portion of the set. Leading the charge with rousing renditions of "Call Me," "Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)" and a take on the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic "Simple Man" the band asserted full command of the arena from the floor to the rafters.
Making good use of pyrotechnics and stage placement, the visual spectacle of Shinedown only amplified the music as the closing trio of "Monsters," "Sound of Madness" and "Second Chance" delivered a powerful punctuation to the set. Along with opening performances from rock pillars BUSH and rock songstress Morgan Wade, the Dance Kid Dance tour emphasized the spectacle at the core of rock music.
