Slaughter to Prevail Emerge As Deathcore's Final Boss on North American Tour

Bathed in a wash of ominous red light and New Order's "Confusion" remix blaring from over the house PA, a massive grizzly bear towered over the stage as deathcore juggernaut Slaughter to Prevail took to the stage for their Los Angeles headlining stop of their North American tour. Tapping into the bloodbath opening of the 1998 cult classic, BLADE, the band set the tone for the evening as they soon surfaced to lay waste to the room with a nealry 90-minute set of pure drubbing and decimation.

Sourcing selections primarily from their 2019 LP, Kostolom and their most recent breakout Grizzly, the setlist was a all out barrage that combined new favorites with some of the band's most powerful entries. Antagonistic anthems like "Russian Grizzly In America" and "Viking" with a special guest assist from Chris Garza added to an arsenal backed by proven weapons like "Bratva" and the demonic "Baba Yaga". After each song, the fans needed to reset in preparation for the pummeling coming next.

Stalking the stage, Alex Terrible asserted a total dominance, challenging the shoulder-to-shoulder floor of the room to reciprocate the same intensity he poured into each track. His guttural spew and onstage hostility made for a concert experience that was chaotic and cathartic in the best way possible. Combining the technicality of the band's sound with the explosiveness of the performance - Slaughter to Prevail marked their arrival as deathcore's final boss with a highlight showing at the Hollywood Palladium.
