Regarded as one of hardcore's most vital annual events, Sound and Fury 2024 not only delivered on the hype of their stacked, two-day roster, but further cemented their position as the West Coast congregation for the culture.
What has officially become a summer tradition returned to Exposition Park in Los Angeles, complete with turf for the pit and barricade-less platform ideal for launching in into the crowd from the stage. With the tall order of following last year's spectacle, the 2024 edition managed to level up with a full week programming leading up to the festival.
Among the highlights from Los Angeles Sound and Fury takeover included stellar showings from Have Heart, Full of Hell, NOTHING, Fleshwater, One Step Closer, Twitching Tongues and a surprise set from Touche Amore that sent the S&F faithful into a festival-sized frenzy.
Curating a weeklong series of events leading up to the festival weekend, Sound and Fury spanned a from a live session of Family Feud with the Hardlore Podcast to the record release show with Sound and Fury alum SPEED, as the band celebrated the arrival of their long-awaited full length debut.
Spanning death metal, grind, shoegaze, powerviolence and various generations of hardcore, Sound and Fury has proven to be an essential part of heavy music's greater cultural reach and an important platform that positions hardcore as much more than a category, but rather, a community.
