In celebration of the July 11th arrival of the rebooted Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 from Activision, the video game franchise teamed with Goldevoice to host an IRL shindig showcasing the soundtrack for one of skate's most beloved and influential titles. Taking over the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, THPS Fest pooled major names from the world of hip hop, punk and skate to mark the countdown to one of the biggest gaming drops of the year.
Featuring performances from Danny Brown, punk legends Adolescents, skate crossover hero Lupe Fiasco and the Steve Caballero-led skate punk unit Urethane, the bill underscored the musical diversity of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater universe. In addition to the bill that brought to life the soundtrack that has been integral to the longevity of the THPS franchise, the event brought together some of skateboarding's elite with the man Tony Hawk himself presiding over the festivities.
Equal parts party and concert, fans of the franchise had the opportunity to preview new elements of the game in between performances all while rubbing elbows with the likes of Chloe Covell, Steve Caballero, Jamie Foy, Kareem Campbell, Geoff Rowley, Margielyn Didal, Nora Vasconcellos.
