Out in support of the arrival of the band's new Struck Dead EP. metal powerhouse Trivium continue to affirm their rank as one of heavy music's most leading forces on the titular tour. Recruiting a tandem of dynamic supporting artists in Jinjer and UK prospects Heriot, the caravan offers a strong indication of the current health of heavy music and emphasizes Trivium's notoriety both as contributors and curators among heavy culture.
Known for constructing the kind of setlists that score big with the most devoted fans, Trivium shook the Riverside Municipal Auditorium from the start, opening with "In Waves" only to climb from there with heaters like "Strife" and a bombastic rendition of their newest anthem in "Bury Me With My Screams". Ensuring classic albums like Ascendency got their due, essentials like "A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation" and "Pull Harder On the Strings of Your Martyr" were executed in along with the title track for Trivium's latest Struck Dead EP - emphasizing the enduring quality of the band's catalog and their continued tenacity in their current era.
Skipping the theatrics of an encore, Trivium completed their live victory lap by taking it back to Shogun with a commanding version of "Down from the Sky." More than enough to walk off triumphant, the band ensured they emptied their arsenal, finishing the job with a towering version of "The Sin and the Sentence" that affirmed Trivium remain at the very top their game.
