Vans and The Simpsons to launch collaborative collection

Vans and The Simpsons to launch collaborative collection

- By Ramon Gonzales

The announcement marks the first joint project since 2007.

The last time that Vans worked with The Simpsons was back 2007 to celebrate the release of the The Simpsons Movie. Enlisting the creative efforts of artists, Kaws, Stash, Gary Panter, Geoff McFetridge, Dave Flores, Futura, Mr. Cartoon, Sam Messner, Taka Hayashi, Tony Munoz, Todd James and Neckface, the limited Simpsons' Vans quickly became a collectors classic.

Vans made an announcement via their social media outlets that a new collaborative collection with The Simpsons is on the way. Though no release date has been set yet, Vans is encouraging people to sign up at Vans.com/TheSimpsons to get details.

It should be noted that the first collection from Vans and The Simpsons has since become the stuff of lore among shoe collectors. The Vans Chukka from the original Simpsons collection designed by KAWS originally sold for $100 retail. That same shoe is now being sold at an entry bid of $25,000 via StockX.
