Established in 2020, Heaven by Marc Jacobs sought to highlight Y2k-era style in the space of streetwear and fashion. In the short time since, the brand has delivered noteworthy collaborations spanning the likes of shoegaze pioneers Cocteau Twins to beloved late 90's/early 2000's film director Wong Kar-Wai.
Now, Heaven has teamed with Florida Streetwear tastemakers in Stray Rats for a spring capsule with trailblazing Sacto outfit Deftones at the creative helm. Among the pieces included in the launch feature iconic Deftones artwork like a White Pony crewneck, an Around the Fur tee and skull-emblazoned hoodie referencing the band's 2003 self-titled album.
Arguably the most important piece in the collection is the band's OG SACTO windbreaker - a hot ticket item for those that have been down with Deftones since the start. In the grid of sample shots that hit social media to make the announcement, Chino Moreno himself can be seen wearing the jacket. Also included in the sample shots is JPEGMafia and Daniel Fang, the drummer for hardcore sensation Turnstile.
Marking the arrival of the spring collaboration capsule, Heaven by Marc Jacobs is hosting a special performance by Deftones the night before the release at a yet-to-be-disclosed location in New York City. Tickets for the exclusive event are free, though securing one does't guarantee entry. Take your shot - HERE
Additionally, Deftones and Heaven by Marc Jacobs have announced a month long exhibition at the Heaven Fairfax store gallery in Los Angeles. Launching in tandem with the capsule, the exhibition begins March 3rd and closes out April 4th. The collection of album art, promotional posters, photography, artifacts and even some of the band's first merch designs will encompass the band's first decade - aligning with the theme of the collaboration with Heaven.
