Billed as the biggest concert in Gamescom history, the event will showcase a roster of heavy music elite all performing their songs featured in the game before the convetional crowf in Cologne, Germany and streaming worldwide.

Last year, video game publishers Funcom along with developers The Outsiders launched an innovative first person shooter that incorporates rhythm into the gameplay experience. ‘Metal: Hellsinger’ has been coined as a cross section between Doom and Guitar Hero, as shooters target “demons and devils” while traversing eight rungs of hell.

The FPS includes an element of music that plays a significant role in not only the ability to advance, but the overall theme of the game. The shooter’s ability to pull the trigger on rhythm will not only increase the damage inflicted on your enemies, but it will also add to the intensity of the music that fuels the game.

To ensure the music was given the proper focus given the game's thematic direction and overall aesthetic, ‘Metal: Hellsinger’ tapped Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, Björn “Speed” Strid of Soilwork, Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquility, Tatiana Shmailyuk of Jinjer, Matt Heafy of Trivium, James Dorton of Black Crown Initiate, Dennis Lyxén of Refused, and Randy Blythe of Lamb of God to voice original tracks for the game.

To add to the excitement of the game's pending release, Metal Hellsinger has announced a live iteration of the game's extreme music universe, tapping some of the contributing talent to perform the music made specifically for the game. Recruiting Matt Heafy of Trivium, Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquility, Dennis Lyxzen of Refused, and James Dorton of Black Crown Initiate, each of the musicians will perform their original song made for the game at Gamescon live later this month.

The free event will be open to the public and for those that can't make the trek to Germany, a livestream of the concert is set to be broadcast starting at 1pm EST/ 7pm CEST.
