Venerated gaming entity G2 ESports has long been regarded as a respected name in the world of competitive Esports. Now the organization is branching out and furthering their reach with an expansion into music.
Marking the launch of their G2verse music initiative, founder and metal enthusiast Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez recruited an accomplished crew of creative cohorts to helm the introductory effort. Going epic with a foray into universe of power metal, Rodriguez delivers a convincing vocal performance for the anthemic rallying cry of "Our Way".
To ensure the project had the proper personnel, Rodriguez tapped guitarist Jason Richardson (Chelsea Grin, Born Of Osiris, All Shall Perish), percussive YouTube fixture Luke Holland (Falling In Reverse, Starset, The Word Alive), and Finnish singer Noora Louhimo of Battle Beast to lead the company's audio charge.
The arrival of the G2verse-era in a single is further bolstered by Taylor Davis and cellist Tina Guo, best know for working with Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack for Dune.
"Epic power metal is my favorite genre. I don't care about its marketability. It's coming from the heart like everything else we do." commented Rodriguez. “20G2 is our year. This song is its anthem.”
The launch of the project also include an ambitious new visual for "Our Way" which doubles as the launch for the official 2022 G2 Jersey, created in partnership with sport apparel authority, adidas. The complete G2 adidas Pro Kit, including a full tracksuit, a sleeve, and supporter jersey, will follow in the coming weeks. The 2022 G2 Jersey is currently available - HERE
Bridging the world of Esports and metal, some of G2's elite in Rasmus Winther “Caps”, Sergen Çelik “Broken Blade”, Marcin Jankowski “Jankos”, Nikola Kovač “NiKo” and Zainab Turkie “zAAz”, all make appearances in the "Our Way music video. Integrating elements of the video's narrative into the jersey, the vision of "Our Way" is detailed in it's bridging of the cultures and it's launch of a new chapter of G2's dominance.
"We are the number one esports organization in the world. And now, we are setting the stage to entertain everybody beyond just competitive video games. This is the beginning of an insane, fun ride." Rodriguez punctuated.
