Leave to to Metallica to break new ground in the world of gaming with one of the biggest franchises ever in Fortnite. The pillars of metal have announced a full Fortnite takeover starting June 13th as part of Festival Season 4. 

The band will be playable in all modes of the Fortnite Universe, featured in the Fortnite Festival, Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing modes of the game. 

As the headliners of the franchise's Festival Season, Metallica will not only be featured with in-game concert events, but the band will also be integrated into a special Battle Royal mode in which 16 players can compete head-to-head with “a new competitive way to play the rhythm music game”.

Each participant will be playing the same setlist consisting of four Metallica essentials including “Enter Sandman” and “Master of Puppets” - with the ability to knock each other off in pursuit of being last person onstage remaining. 

Additionally, Metallica will be featured for the “Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury.” - the special in-game concert events designated for only for June 22nd (2 p.m. ET; 5 p.m. ET; and 11 p.m. ET) and June 23rd (10 a.m. ET; 2 p.m. ET; and 5 p.m. ET). These are the only times fans can catch the event live which will consist of “six of Metallica’s fan-favorite songs with themed gameplay that complements the intensity of a Metallica live show.”
