Recently announced during the The Game Awards, Evil Dead: The Game got it's first reveal. The game is being developed by Saber Interactive and will be third-person shooter.
Likely the biggest coup of the video game translation of the cult classic franchise is the acquisition of Bruce Campbell himself to voice the saga's famed protagonist, Ash Williams. Campbell is not only voicing the game's character, he narrates the game's recently released trailer. Campbell shared his excitement about jumping back into the fray. "Boss Team and Saber Interactive are planning a huge immersive dealio, and I knew I had to come back. You'll be able to step into my shoes and kick some Deadite ass!"
The game's storyline pulls from the original 1981 Sam Raimi created masterpiece as well as the additional films in the franchise in Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, and the STARZ Original Ash Vs. Evil Dead. Williams is again armed with his signature boomstick and chainsaw, as well as a cache of 25 different weapons to help slay the Deadites.
Joining Williams will be characters from the franchise past include Scotty from the original film, Lord Arthur from Army of Darkness, and Kelly Maxwell of Ash Vs. Evil Dead.
Evil Dead: The Game is slated to debut in 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Watch the official trailer below.
