Green Day Celebrates 30 Years of 'Dookie' With 'Saviors' Stadium Tour

- By Ramon Gonzales

The run will include a European leg with support from Nothing But Thieves, The Hives, Donots, The Interrupters and Maid of Ace and a North American stretch with support from Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and The Linda Lindas.

Punk icons Green Day went old school last weekend during their sold out headlining set for When We Were Young Festival. During a secret performance ahead of the festival, the band tookover Vegas' Fremont Country Club for a especially intimate set, letting the lucky 800 fans in on the news that the Saviors tour was happening. Fans got the word via paper fliers the band handed out at the show.

The band went onto preview their 14th studio release by performing two new singles, during the secret set, revealing  “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and the brand new “Look Ma, No Brains!”  which now serves as the first music video from the album with a clip directed by Ryan Baxley and Brendan Walter.

Now the band is officially rolling out the news with a full announcement of the massive stadium run set for 2024. The Saviors Tour will not only christen the band's new album of the same name, it will also mark two important milestones for Green Day. The Saviors Tour will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band's seminal studio release, Dookie and will mark the 20th anniversary of American Idiot.

The run of stadium shows for Green Day kicks off in the spring of next year with the European leg of the tour. Green Day tops O Son do Camino in Spain on May 30th and concludes with an epic June 29th headliner at Wembley Stadium in London. Support on the European dates will include sets from Nothing But Thieves, The Hives, Donots, The Interrupters and Maid of Ace on various dates.

The Saviors Tour then begins the run on North America with 26 stadium plays across the US, in addition to a festival appearance in Montreal. The tour will feature supporting sets from The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas throughout.

Green Day shared, “We’ve never been more excited to unleash new music than with Saviors, a record that’s meant to be rocked live, together. So let’s thrash. We’ve got some amazing friends who are coming along for the ride!”

Tickets for the Saviors Tour will be available via pre-sale Tuesday, November 7th. Fans can sign up for Green Day’s mailing list by Tuesday, November 7 to get first access to presale tickets. General on-sale kicks of November 10th. A full list of dates and cities can be found below.
