2004 would prove a pivotal year in the landscape of American metal music. On August 31, 2004, both Lamb of God and Mastodon would deliver respective full length entries in Ashes of the Wake and Leviathan, that have since become modern classics - albums that forever impacted the culture and have become some of their most celebrated work.
Marking the 20th anniversary of the pair of landmark releases, Lamb of God and Mastodon have teamed up for a massive summer trek in the appropriately dubbed, Ashes of Leviathan Tour. On each night of the 29-date North American campaign, both Lamb of God and Mastodon will perform their respective masterpieces in full - offering a rare opportunity for fans to be a part of history.
In addition to the magnitude of an already monumental tour, Ashes of Leviathan will also feature a walloping supporting roster, touting opening sets from Slayer guitarist Kerry King - embarking on his debut solo tour. Additionally, Sheffield's finest Malevolence will kick off the festivities with Massachusetts vetersns Unearth also joining the run in select dates.
Implementing a charity component into their touring plans, both Lamb of God and Mastodon will be out in support of two worthy causes that are especially important to the bands. Lamb of God will be supporting Living the Dream Foundation which works to which helps make dreams come true for music fans faced with life-threatening illnesses.
Following the tragic passing of their manager Nick John in 2018 from pancreatic cancer, Mastodon began working with the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. In the years since, the band has raised thousands of dollars to help aide the foundation which supports both researchers and patients around the globe.
