Following the band's highlight submission at this year's Punk Rock Bowling weekender in Las Vegas over Memorial Day Weekend, punk icons The Damned made a stop in Los Angeles for a headlining set at The Wiltern.

Compiling a collection of greatest hits spanning more than four decades, the packed crowd of multi-generational fans rejoiced when anthems like "I Just Can't Be Happy Today," "Plan 9 Channel 7" and "Fan Club" blared from the stage.

Of course the band's most definitive tracks proved worth the price of admission with essentials like "Love Song" and "Neat Neat Neat" bookending the first set. Among the highlights on the evening included The Damned's rendition of "Alone Again Or" from the 1960's psychedelic garage rock collective, Love.

Leaning into their madcap punk reputation, the band would also take on a cover of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" to kick off their second encore. The bewitching track ran the risk of depleting the energy in the room, especially so late into the set. However, when paired with pop of the band's finale in "Smash It Up" - the combination proved a masterful control of the crowd - first luring the room close then going in for the kill.
