Following a successful return to Europe for a succession of highly-touted festival plays, including appearances at Download, Graspop and Hellfest, thrash institution Megadeth have reactivated their North American stampede touring ahead of the release of their long-awaited studio album, The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead!".
With a September 2nd arrival date, the band have thus far previewed the album with three colossal singles, the first of which were unveiled as a two-part epic in "We'll Be Back: Chapter I" and "Night Stalkers: Chapter II" - both of which landed with a cinematic visuals driven by the creative visual of Dave Mustaine. The tracks, coupled with the dramatic videos, illuminate the tragic origin story of the band's iconic mascot, Vic Rattlehead.
The most recent reveal from the album in "Soldier On" is a rock heavy, arena-sized anthem that might ease off the gas in terms of speed, but remains as effective as any Megadeth classic, backed by a personal message of resilience and fortitude.
Fueled by the excitement of the pending new album, Megadeth have spent little time being idle. In fact, after a short break following their European run, the band has once again fired up the rig to hit the road for a North American fall trek, this time paired with arena-rock sensation, Five Finger Death Punch. Bolstered by the addition of Mongolian folk metal heroes The HU as well as Texas prospects Fire From the Gods, the run serves well in showcasing the health and diversity of modern heavy music.
